#10 House Post
This 7" housepost was carved by Dana. It represents the House pillars used by the Haidas and Tlingits. The Haidas used four pillars to support the central rafters of their community houses. The illustrated stories are from Haida Mythology. The Tlingits used plain supports for which their house beams rested on, probably because the wood was too small to supply the space for carving. Their house posts were placed in front of the plain supporting posts. |

#21 Eagle Totem
The Eagle Totem is 8" high. It is the likeness of a Kwakiutl Memorial Pole which is located in Alert Bay, B.C., Canada. The Eagle stands atop Grizzly Bear with a salmon in his teeth. The memorial pole, or mortuary pole was erected much the same way as our tomb stones. Some had a crypt carved in the back where ashes of the dead were placed. Later, the memorial poles doubled as a potlatch pole for the Haidas. They could honor the living as well as the dead. Dana and Alan both worked on this carving. |

#14 Small Thunderbird
This 6.5" totem was Dana's first carving. He used a piece of driftwood from Bristal Bay when he was salmon fishing there. This is an original representing the Thunderbird and Grizzly Bear. |

This 6.4 totem is an original carving by Alan. It represents Thunderbird and Grizzly Bear. |

#3 Mini Thunderbird
This Thunderbird is just 3.75" tall. It is another carving by Alan. |

#B22 Totamic Bear
This 8" Bear is quite magestic in the dominating red and black colors. I think Alan did a super job on him. |
